POSITION:            Water Utility Maintenance Worker I - City of Columbus

STATUS:            $13.89/hr. plus competitive benefit program.  This is semi-skilled and skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of the city's water meters, water distribution system and wastewater collection system. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Water Utility Supervisor and/or the Water Utility Maintenance Worker II, and the employee exercises limited independent judgment in deciding which procedures to apply in the completion of assignments.  Work is reviewed periodically for adherence to prescribed standards and procedures.

Should have graduated from high school or G.E.D. supplemented with some experience in a related manual labor trade or occupation. Possess a Nebraska Grade IV Water Operator Certificate and a Nebraska Grade I Wastewater Operator Certificate within 24 months of beginning employment.

Possess or ability to obtain a valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain. This position participates in D.O.T. drug testing program.

Work shift is generally Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  The individual will be required to work some weekends and overtime hours after training.

STATUS:            $14.91/hr. plus competitive benefit program.  This is responsible, semi-skilled work as an entry-level position of an introductory nature in the operation and maintenance of the City's wastewater treatment facility.  An employee in this class receives detailed on-the-job training and instruction in wastewater facility operations under the general supervision of the Wastewater Supervisor.  An employee in this class will learn how monitoring and operating equipment is used in the controlling of wastewater treatment processes, and how to maintain and repair pumps, gauges, equipment, and plant structures. Work is reviewed periodically for adherence to prescribed standards and procedures.

WASTEWATER  TREATMENT  SUPERINTENDENT

 

Hastings Utilities is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Wastewater Treatment Superintendent.  This individual is responsible for overall Leadership and management of the

Pollution Control Facility.  Performs technical and supervisory activities, plans, coordinates and

directs facility operations and personnel.  This individual assures compliance with all applicable

 federal, state, and local regulations.  Hastings Utilities is a municipally owned utility company. 

Experience equivalent to the completion of high school plus eight years’ experience with

increased responsibilities in wastewater operations.  An associate or advanced degree in a related

field or equivalent experience would be preferred.  Individual must posses a NDEQ Class 3

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

The City of Crete Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for a full-time, permanent position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

Position purpose: Ensure wastewater discharged meets State and Federal permit limits by efficient daily operations.

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); prefer an Associate’s Degree in an Environmental Science; Two years of experience in the operation, maintenance and/or lab of an AS/TF wastewater system; Possession of a NE Grade II Wastewater Operators Certificate; Possession of a valid Driver’s License, CDL Class B; Basic computer skills; Mechanical skills.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.
